1.A Party Badge, Half a Lifetime Fighting Cancer

This year marks the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China.

On July 1, Academician Tang Zhaoyou Lifetime Honorary Professor of Zhongshan Hospital, Fudan University; Honorary Director of the Liver Cancer Institute, Fudan University; former President of Shanghai Medical University (now Fudan University Shanghai Medical College); and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering was honored with the title of "National Outstanding Communist Party Member."

In the face of this weighty honor, Academician Tang Zhaoyou said simply: "I have only done what a Party member should do."

Recently, leaders from Fudan University visited Academician Tang Zhaoyou and extended their warm congratulations. In the group photo, an Asclepius Meditec hydrogen-oxygen generator happened to appear in the frame – this device is precisely the representative product of hydrogen-oxygen medicine that Academician Tang has been following.

2.From Skepticism to Complete Conviction

In 2019, "Hydrogen Controls CancerTheory and Practice was published. Academician Tang Zhaoyou, then nearly 90 years old, gladly wrote the foreword for the book.

In his foreword, he wrote:

"Regarding hydrogen for cancer control, when I saw the first case, I was skeptical. But when I had seen nearly 50 cases, I was completely convinced. The cancer diagnosis was clear, and all radical treatments had been exhausted, yet the disease remained difficult to control. After months of hydrogen inhalation, the tumor was still there, but the patient had returned to normal life  like a different person. For this reason, I am convinced that hydrogen has a certain effect in cancer control."

An academician who had battled cancer for over half a century did not cling to established views when faced with hydrogen-oxygen medicine. Instead, he measured everything by the standard: "Practice is the sole criterion for testing truth."

At the 2018 National Cancer Congress, Academician Tang Zhaoyou proposed the famous theory of "Six Integrations in the War Against Cancer." In his foreword, he mapped these six integrations to hydrogen cancer control:

  • Integration of elimination and transformation: Hydrogen-oxygen inhalation does not directly kill cancer cells; it belongs to "transformation."
  • Integration of solo combat and combined therapy: Hydrogen-oxygen inhalation alone may not cure cancer; tumor-eliminating treatments are still needed.
  • Integration of swift campaigns and protracted strategies: The swift campaigns of surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy are combined with the protracted strategy of months of persistent hydrogen-oxygen inhalation.
  • Integration of passive treatment and active participation: Cancer treatment is often given by doctors to patients, whereas hydrogen-oxygen inhalation requires the patient's active participation.
  • Integration of high-tech innovation and cost-effectiveness: Compared with targeted drugs costing millions per year, hydrogen-oxygen inhalation is a cost-effective option.
  • Integration of adopting foreign advances and Chinese thinking: Hydrogen-oxygen gas comes from the electrolysis of "water," which embodies the Chinese philosophy of "overcoming hardness with softness."

Final Words

From "saving lives" to "controlling cancer," Academician Tang Zhaoyou's original aspiration has never changed he has always kept the word "save lives" close to his heart. His attention to and affirmation of hydrogen-oxygen medicine stem from the same original aspiration: as long as it benefits patients, it is worth exploring and worth recommending!
